Playlist popularity prediction

  • Built a Python model of online playlist traffic. Random Forest, compared with XGBoost and a neural net.
  • Owned the Random Forest implementation, the model comparison, and the write-up of methods and results.
  • On identical features, the neural net predicted traffic more accurately.

System dynamics

Electricity and carbon price transmission

  • Built a Vensim model of price transmission between China’s carbon market (CCER) and electricity markets.
  • Tested policy combinations and recorded how the two prices moved under each setting.
  • Showed how adaptive regulation balances short-term price volatility against long-term market stability.
